Our experienced staff can prepare everything from sheet music to full scores to examples for music textbooks, working either from original music manuscripts or from actual recordings, with music of any style.

By now you have heard about computers and software that make music notation fast, efficient, and perfectly beautiful. But how true is this? In our experience, software in the hands of an amateur does not make a professional. We have been hired on many occasions to re-work music that has been computer-generated, but filled with errors. Often these errors are not just musical but reflect bad visual judgment. Computer technology is a tool; if used correctly by professionals, you will be assured of a fine product.

I have been a music copyist/engraver for over 20 years. When I started I was using pen and ink and a music typewriter. I own almost all the Macintosh notation software products that have come on the market since 1985. Since 1987, all my work for publishers and composers has been done by computer. The main program I used since 1987 was H.B. Music Engraver, combined with my own customized fonts, using Adobe Illustrator for graphic alterations that Music Engraver (or Finale) just couldn't handle. I have since switched to Music Press, and now no longer need to use Illustrator for my work. What a difference!! It is easier and more intuitive to work with Music Press. But not only that; it is much more enjoyable to work with Music Press! Alan Talbot is a master programmer. The program is elegant! Alan is responsive to his customers. He continually upgrades the program; while at the same time he is careful to avoid adding excessive "bells and whistles" that add "hype" but no substance.
